Woman breaks up with ‘cheating husband’ in very public way
Known only as Lisa, the woman used the electronic advertising board on the packed dual carriageway in Sheffield to humiliate her husband Paul.
The sign – strategically positioned alongside a busy highway in Sheffield, a city in northern England – read: “To my cheating husband Paul”. You deserve each other.
A more recent entry to the scorned wives hall of fame is Vicky Pryce, who discovered that her husband Chris Huhne was leaving her for another woman on the day he told the press. When you get home I won’t be there.
Partner cheating on you? Or maybe just erect a 15ft billboard along their morning commute and end the relationship there and then?
‘Enjoy your drive to work! Mark Catterall, a representative for the advertising agency Kong Media, shared details about the business traction with Lisa.
While most readers insist the cheating husband deserved to be embarrassed, some readers actually argued that Lisa’s actions were immature.
People quickly responded on Twitter after seeing the message.
Samantha Townend @stownend13 tweeted: “This sign has appeared on the Parkway in Sheffield”.
Marieb365 added: ‘Saw the sign on the #sheffieldparkway on my way to work!
Billboard company Anco Digital confirmed the sign was displayed for three hours between 6am and 9am on Wednesday morning.
“It is the most recognised billboard location in the city, so I wouldn’t like to be the partner scorned by this”. Lisa also opted for a digital screen “so she could deliver the message at the right time”, he said. “Good for you Lisa!”
