Woman Caught Breastfeeding While Driving on Highway: ‘I Wish I Was Kidding’
She even admitted it wasn’t her first time being caught.
Only when Oliphant got to the driver’s side window did he see the baby, who was being breastfeed by his mom while she was driving, cops allege. Trooper Oliphant called her behavior inappropriate and unsafe. The woman admitted to driving while breastfeeding and justified her actions by saying her baby was crying uncontrollably and that she couldn’t think of anything else to do.
When the trooper approached the vehicle, he saw that the 1-year-old baby boy was, indeed, clinging to his mother in the driver’s seat.
A trooper conducting a traffic stop Wednesday discovered a woman had been breastfeeding her toddler while driving on I-5.
“She told me that she had actually been contacted before from another police agency, not too long ago, for the exact same thing”, said Trooper Oliphant.
Francis says they had a talk about safety and parental responsibility and the officer issued a ticket for child-restraint violation.
@Wspd7pio @ Twitter Washington State Patrol Trooper Mark Francis tweeted this freaky traffic stop Wednesday night.
Francis said the trooper also contacted Child Protective Services.
