Woman charged over Primark breastfeeding slur
A woman who claimed a security guard pulled her baby from her breast as she was being fed in a Primark store has been charged with perverting the course of public justice, say police.
After Ms Starmer accused Primark of not letting her breastfeed in their store, bosses at the giant chain said they were taking the allegations “very seriously indeed”.
Caroline Starmer, 28, alleged that she was confronted by a guard while feeding her nine and a half month old daughter behind a mannequin in the children’s section of the shop.
The alleged incident came to light after Mrs Starmer made a series of Facebook posts claiming she was asked to leave the store after breastfeeding in a “quiet spot”.
She is is due in court August 24.

It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings”,
Leicestershire police said.
“Criminal proceedings have now commenced and the defendant has the right to a fair trial”.
This of course includes breastfeeding mothers.
She added: “I was stunned, I didn’t know what to do, this stranger had hold of my daughter and was walking off with her screaming while I had my breast exposed and my other daughter in the pushchair”.
