Woman charged with murdering boyfriend after Facebook ‘confession’
A woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of her boyfriend after allegedly posting on Facebook that she was “on the run” for the slaying.
Nakasia James, 18, pleaded not guilty to murder on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, in the stabbing death of her boyfriend, Dorian Powell, 21, of San Bernardino, Jan. 11, 2016, on Central Avenue.
James was a suspect in the killing of Dorian Powell, 21, who was found dead early Monday morning inside a San Bernardino apartment, the lieutenant said.
Police found Powell’s dead body after receiving a 911 call.
The post said: “I gt the knife and and stabbed him ddnt think I would hurt him BT he died and I’m on the run”.
The post, which has since been deleted, was first published on KTLA, and was uploaded on an account with the same name as James.
She said: ‘I was mad AF he socked me in my eyes and just picked something up’. “Btsorryy lord hopefully u forgive me!”
Following the scuffle, Dorian Powell was allegedly stabbed to death by Nakasia after which she fled the screen.
Nakasia Macc James was finally arrested by the San Bernardino Police on Sunday – well over a week since the death of Dorial Powell.
Authorities have declined to comment on the social media post.
Police continued to check the Facebook page and spotted the posts, ABC station KABC-TV reported.
The post that appeared on a page attributed to “Nakasia Macc James”. She said that James’ mother told her that Powell had been physically abusive to James, and that James had photos of bruises on her face.
