Woman fatally stabbed in NY, baby born at the scene
It is believed that the mentally disturbed woman was trying to snatch Ms Sutton’s baby because she had been telling neighbors she was pregnant.
Police reportedly found 22-year old Angelikque Sutton stabbed in the stomach multiple times.
The baby, who has reportedly been named Jenasis, survived and is being cared for at a hospital in the Bronx. The woman claimed the baby was hers even though there are no signs she was pregnant, according to Bronx councilman Andy King.
The victim, who had sustained a cardiac arrest, was administered CPR before being rushed to Montefiore Medical Center, but upon her arrival at the hospital she was pronounced dead.
Her unsuspecting boyfriend shared the bogus sonogram image on his Facebook page with the comment, “can’t wait to meet her”. But she trained for a year to take on El Tour de Tucson.
Another woman across the street was handcuffed and screaming that she was the mother of the baby, according to officials from the city.
Emergency workers tended to the newborn to make sure she could breathe until an ambulance arrived, Mr King said.
“It seems the fetus of this girl was removed … surgically removed by the perpetrator”, King said after being briefed by the police. “With the holidays approaching, what a bloody way to start the season”.
It was Patrick Bradley, Sutton’s boyfriend, who found the culprit covered in blood and holding the baby girl, which prompted him to call 911 straight away.
It’s also reported that Wade had signed up to a number of online baby registries in which she had listed things such as a nappy bag, bibs and bottles. Charges against her were pending and it was not immediately clear whether the victim and suspect knew one another.
So far, police have not identified the victim or the suspect. Jelani Magloire, 24, said she had never seen something so horrific.
