Woman’s Facebook video from Pueblo goes viral
He said that the cashier was questioned and said he doesn’t know what the woman who posted the video is talking about.
PUEBLO, Colo. – A video that a Pueblo woman posted on Facebook after a heartrending experience at Walmart surpassed 800,000 views Monday.
On Friday, Yore says she was standing in line at a Walmart in Pueblo, Colorado, when she noticed the cashier, who appeared to be a teenage boy, was a hard time and a customer was yelling at him for it. “You suck at customer service”, Yore heard the woman say.
However, to ease out the situation, Yore assisted the woman in loading her groceries but things got worse when her card was rejected.
Yore says she continued to console him, and he stopped and said…
“And he comes around the bagging area and hugs me”.
According to Yore, the young man immediately started crying and came out from behind the register to hug her, explaining that his mother had committed suicide that morning and he was working to earn money to pay their rent and bills. “This woman is yelling at me and I don’t even have a mom anymore”, said the young man. “And this lady is just yelling at me”, he said. In fact, it was found that the only tension between a customer and the cashier that Yore vlogged about was an issue due to a so-called “language barrier”.
The original video, uploaded to YouTube on December 6, features Colorado resident Paire Yore explaining how she was forced to intervene after witnessing another customer abusing the cashier.
Yore ends the video by saying, “That really just shows me that no matter what… don’t jump down their throat because they are fighting a battle that none of us know about”.
‘We just have to be thankful to be alive, and treat people like you want to be treated.
Yore said the woman was completely humiliated in front of everyone for the way she had treated the boy as he continued to cry.
Mullins said Walmart has received lots of calls asking about the young man, and the company looked into the incident extensively, including reviewing the surveillance video.
“I don’t know if there was a misunderstanding”.
She has since made the video “private” on her YouTube account, but it is still posted and still getting “Likes” and “Shares” her Facebook page. The clerk says his mother is alive. “One more step to changing lives – because of you guys”.
