Woman seeks marijuana on Twitter, deputies respond
So when a South Beach woman with the punny Twitter handle of Rosa_Sparkz turned to Twitter in her search for weed, she got the wrong kind of attention from local authorities…
“Somebody bring me weed. I’ll pay for it”, she tweeted.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office did not make any further tweets about the incident.
Everything we thought we knew about drug deals has always dictated that purchases are arranged with burner phones or dark alley meet-ups. The reply was also favorited by more than 27,000 Twitter users.
Obviously, there were no legal repercussions and the Sparkz reports that she’s enjoying the spotlight.
And she tried to capitalize on it.
Sparkz said the police made no attempt to contact her in the aftermath, despite possession of up to 20 grams of marijuana being a misdemeanor with a possible jail sentence of up to one year in Florida. I asked them to follow back so I could DM my location but that was to no avail.
