Women get better red carpet questions at today’s Emmys
AMY Poehler led a push to introduce more thoughtful questions to the Emmy Awards red carpet today.
According to a blog entry posted on HarpersBazaar.com, the campaign is a collaboration with Amy Poelher’s Smart Girls Organization, Twitter and the Television Academy.
The #AskHerMore campaign demands that red carpet reporters stop reducing actresses to questions about who or what they are wearing – and it returned with a bang for the 2015 Emmy Awards.
She may have lost the Emmy award on Sunday night, but Amy Poehler absolutely won the Internet.
The comedian and actress launched the #SmartGirlsAsk campaign last week which encouraged fans to submit intelligent questions to ask the biggest stars of the Emmys.
“Thank you for that interesting question”. Not only did she have the cajones to wear a hoodie in the audience when her category was announced, she also changed the way female celebrities are treated on the red carpet for the better.
Pop singer Britney Spears even joined in the conversation by asking a question.
The questions included “What’s your favorite charity to support?” and “How did you start believing in your own work and talent?” Other stars who took part in the Q&A include Jimmy Fallon, Alan Cumming, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
