Women in Film celebrate Oscar nominees, call for equality
The Joy star, who is up for Best Actress at the Oscars, made a surprise appearance at the Ninth Annual Women in Film Pre-Oscar Party in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, on Friday.
(The night before, she was also put on the spot for remarks at Arquette’s Dinner for Equality.) Lawrence emphasised the importance of mentorship and reiterated Arquette’s equal pay sentiments with a triumphant, “Equal pay for women!”
Lawrence has been attempting to shine a light of the pay gap between men and women in the film industry, noting the massive discrepancy between herself, the highest paid actress in Hollywood and the highest paid actor.

Jennifer Lawrence, one of the Best Actress nominees in the 88th Academy Awards, has a penchant for pleasing the crowd with her beauty and strong fashion sense. “I actually played the younger version of her [on the crime show Medium]. We’re getting a dialogue going”.

The event, which honours all 51 women who have been nominated for an Oscar this year, was also attended by Alicia Silverstone, Michelle Monaghan and Sasha Alexander.
