‘Wonder Woman’ actress Gal Gadot refuses to sign on for sequal
The actress took to Instagram last month to write: “Bullying and sexual harassment is unacceptable”. Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has reportedly refused to commit to a sequel if he is involved.
Warner Bros. had already previously announced that it was severing ties with Ratner through his ongoing deal where he was producing and directing films for the studio. Since the film earned more than United States dollars 400 million internationally, therefore Brett’s company will get a fair share of profits.
Just yesterday, Anna Paquin backed up Ellen Page’s lengthy Facebook post that accused Ratner of homophobic remarks and sexism on the set of X-Men: The Last Stand. Paquin, via Twitter, confirmed that she was in the room when Ratner made the remarks.
NEW YORK• Brett Ratner, in the centre of a sexual-harassment storm, is also being hit in the pocket.
After that, She further associates that Warner Bros. has to face beside her on this edition as it happens.
Ratner’s RatPac-Dune Entertainment has had a co-financing deal set-up at Warner Bros. for years where he has helped finance (and earned profits from) DCEU movies like Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, and Wonder Woman.
I can only hope that, as more women get the power Gadot has, they use it in this way: to freeze abusers out of the prestige and money they crave, and demand that studios do the same.
Now, it seems as if these allegations have caused DCEU star Gal Gadot to put her foot down. But her dropping out came only a few days before the accusations of sexual harassment against Brett Ratner made it to press.
Wonder Woman has been widely praised as a symbol of female empowerment, both directed by and starring women. I stand by all the courageous women confronting their fears and speaking out.
Ratner is yet another name that’s been added to the disgustingly long list of alleged sexual harassers and abusers in Hollywood.
– wonder. (@ifavgadot) November 11, 2017The idea of Gal Gadot getting Brett Ratner fired fills me with delight. Henstridge said she was only 19 when Ratner wouldn’t let him leave his apartment and forced him to perform oral sex with him. But let’s not forget that Gal Gadot dropped out of presenting the Tree of Life Award to Ratner at a dinner for the Jewish National Fund recently.
