Or better yet, “All right, they’re on our left, they’re on our right, they’re in front of us, they’re behind us…they can’t get away this time”.
On November 10, 1775, two battalions of Continental Marines were formed in Philadelphia.
From the oldest Marine to the youngest, he said, there’s a bond.
To celebrate, we’d like to say happy birthday to all the Marines around Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

A small ceremony was held at the recruitment office, dedicated to the birthday, hosted by David Lasher, a former marine and a management analyst of the city of Santa Clarita. Now with over 188,800 Marines in 25 infantry battalions, the Corps endures and spans all domains, exemplified by the Eagle Globe and Anchor insignia and its motto Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful. You expect to see people you haven’t seen for a while and reunite with old comrades.
More Marines died at World War I’s Battle of Belleau Wood than in their entire history up to that point.. Words like “leatherneck”, “devil dogs”, “oorah”, “fire watch”, “jarhead”, and “SITFU”.
A lot of credit goes to adman J. Walter Thompson for that.
Though there is no actual historical reference to corroborate this story, the Marines continue to use “Devil Dogs” as one of their nicknames today.
