WR Bryant, CB Claiborne ruled out for Dallas
“BUFFALO, N.Y. “ Wide receiver Dez Bryant didn”t make the trip to Buffalo on Saturday, the Dallas Cowboys announced. Bryant is scheduled to undergo further medical tests on each this week, and it’s unknown whether he’ll even be cleared to practice after missing all of last week. Claiborne initially strained his hamstring in the Cowboys’ Week 10 loss to the Buccaneers and made a brief return before re-aggravating the injury in the team’s Week 14 loss to the Packers.
A season much different than the previous one for both Bryant and Cowboys, as Dez led the National Football League with 16 receiving touchdowns in 2014 with 88 receptions and 1,320 yards according to ESPN stastitics.
Bryant hasn’t practiced all week, and had been downgraded to doubtful after Friday.
Asked why, Garrett said on Monday: “We just want to be pure in our evaluation of the status of the player”. The Cowboys are likely being very cautious with their star recevier since the team is no longer in playoff contention, making these final two games all but meaningless. “So we’ll see how he is here in the next couple of days and make our next best decision”. It will be the sixth game Bryant has missed this season, having missed five games earlier in the year after breaking a bone in his foot during the season opener against the New York Giants.
Bryant has 31 catches for 401 yards and three touchdowns on the season in nine games played.
