And soon after, he had to “correct his congratulations”, later posting, “Adriana Gutierrez, you are still our Miss Universe!”. The host of Miss Universe messed up the victor and crowned the runner-up.
Steve Harvey holds up the cue card which may have tricked him into incorrectly announcing the wrong Miss Universe victor.
Harvey called for attention of the contestants, millions of TV viewers and hundreds of live audience. Congratulations Miss Universe 2015 Adriana Gutierrez!
After Harvey announced Gutierrez as the victor of the pageant and she was crowned, he came back and said he had made a mistake and the victor was Miss Philippines.

Wurtzbach also talked about the awkward situation.

“It’s a very non-traditional crowning moment, isn’t it?” she said in a conversation with Miss USA.
Harvey was not almost as smooth about the whole ordeal – he wrote a tweet to once again apologize for his mistake, and ended up publishing possibly the most unfortunately misspelled tweet of 2015. “I am so so regretful”.
