WWE Battleground 2017 PPV Preview and Match Predictions
It can only be assumed that whoever comes up on top will become the next challenger to the WWE championship at Summerslam, so smart money says John Cena vs. Jinder Mahal.
“We all have our career paths and nothing lasts forever but WWE has been my family for the past 15 years”.
At Money in the Bank, Jinder Mahal retained the WWE Championship in his obligated rematch against Randy Orton. Even the main event, while not a strong match by any means, produced a huge highlight with Samir Singh’s fall off the side of the Punjabi Prison. Once a competitor escapes the inner structure, either through one of the doors or by climbing over the top, then the competitor must climb up and over the twenty-foot outer structure and successfully land on the floor!
The Great Khali returned to WWE to help save the WWE Championship for Jinder Mahal at Battleground.
WWE Champion Jinder Mahal defends his title against number one contender Randy Orton inside the demonic Punjabi Prison, while Kevin Owens looks to regain the United States Championship as he goes up against AJ Styles.
In the recently released The Wall movie, a United States soldier played by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler John Cena is trapped by an Iraqi sniper. I feel like they’ll be wrapping this one up for Nakamura to move on to a new feud, possibly with Kevin Owens.
Flag Match: John Cena vs. Rusev. It feels too soon for Mike to lose his first match, so I assume he will get a similar flukey win. He’ll take on a very familiar opponent in Rusev. Unless it’s some new tag team, I’m gonna go with Breezango.
Three title matches were part of the PPV event and both of them lived up to the expectations. He made the pin and the New Day are the tag champs!
Aside from the Punjabi Prison Match against Mahal, Orton could be facing Baron Corbin at SummerSlam 2017.
Matches for tonight’s show include Sasha Banks vs.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship: Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston (with Big E) def. Kofi Kingston hit Jimmy Uso with a Trouble in Paradise and Woods followed with a flying elbow to pick up the win.
Kyle: I have a feeling that Corbin is going to get himself DQ’d making Shinsuke the “winner”. Lynch then immediately locks it in on Lana for another elimination.
Natalya counters Charlotte’s moonsault attempt by putting up her knees and after slamming Charlotte’s head into the turnbuckle, she pins Charlotte for the win.
Each champion is favored to retain their titles.
Cena put his Bulgarian rival through a table in an overly patriotic bout that was over when the American put his flag on a podium.
