WWE: Cena confronts Stewart, exacts revenge
WWE fans, what did you think of this year’s SummerSlam? All four hours of it. Plus, probably a touch of pre-show.
Stewart’s interference helped Rollins become the first man in WWE history to hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the United States Championship at the same time. The match went back and forth, as it was pretty uptempo throughout.
And with that, Stewart was given the wrestler’s trademark Attitude Adjustment, getting body-slammed to the canvas. He pinned Rollins, but there was no ref around. “I’m glad to be back in reality”, he was quoted as saying by IGN. The move dropped Cena to the mat, but a worn down Rollins – and one well-aware that the referee was on the outside – had no interest in rushing to his feet.
What did you think of this SummerSlam match?
The moment was huge for the live audience and gave Rollins a win he deserved and needed. I couldn’t see it happening. It just makes him look bad as a champion.
“I guess we couldn’t get David Letterman to host the show”, Heyman said to Stewart.
The match was a B+, but had a C+ finish. The CW star and WWE veteran Adrian Neville took on Stardust, who got into a fight with Amell a few weeks ago at WWE Raw, in a tag-teamed match.
Lesnar had Undertaker in the Kimura lock when Undertaker rolled Lesnar into a pinning position.
It seems that the door for future matches will remain open.
Both of them were reportedly scared to interview Brock Lesnar. Lesnar did not submit, but instead passed out, giving the official victory to The Undertaker. Still, his acting was better than a good percentage of the WWEs current stable.
No doubt this will set up a third and final confrontation at WrestleMania 32 in AT&T Stadium in Texas next year – if the Undertaker avoided serious injury. This controversy at least made sense. I’m now blazing a path through their Monday Night Wars series, which chronicles the ratings battle between the WWE and WCW during the mid-’90s to early-2000s.
