WWE Fastlane 2018: John Cena loses his path to WrestleMania 34
Liam Hoofe reviews WWE Fastlane 2018…
Other names promoted for the event include John Cena, Triple H, AJ Styles and so many more. SONY TEN 1 will continue to air Raw and SmackDown live with English language commentary.
My second favorite match of the night belonged to Randy Orton vs Bobby Roode for the US Title.
Gearing up for WrestleMania, the SLAM!
In case you didn’t know……
MATTHEW BYER: When John Cena tied Ric Flair’s 16 World Title Reigns the audience was appreciative and congratulatory. Cena finally overpowered him and hit him with an AA on the steps to nearly pull off a victory but Ziggler somehow recovered to save the day.
Cena insists that the only person refusing to have that match is the Undertaker himself.
Flair picked up a strong win over Riott in a good match which saw both competitors’ back-up groups ejected from ringside.
Even though he may be guilty of mailing it in from time to time, when he’s locked in, few in WWE are better than Shinsuke Nakamura.
What’s next: AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura. If he’s going to make that turn, a match against a WWE legend on the sport’s biggest stage would be the ideal place to do it. Both of these matches will be fun to watch, but Usos and New Day never disappoint. Anyone other than Styles winning would be a huge disappointment.
It’s very possible that this “injury” is just storyline to setup the rumored WrestleMania match that would see The Uso vs. That seems like a long-shot however, so go with Styles to retain. I can imagine this match being in the running to steal the show, as Rusev should inspire Nakamura to pull out a solid one. He’s going to have to go through Styles, Ziggler, Owens, Zayn, and Corbin in a (assumedly No DQ) Six-Pack Challenge. Leaving Cena as the odd man out. Bryan would agree to giving Cena an opportunity as he would have to defeat Styles in a non-title match. Or is it the non-WWE backstory history between AJ and Nakamura. I’d really like to see Rusev and Roode at Wrestlemania. I get shivers thinking about it, and I think it would definitely work.
Styles defended his WWE title in the main event, and defeated Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin, John Cena and Dolph Ziggler in a six-man match. Owens and Zayn jumped them, so in response, they were put into two singles matches, Corbin vs. Owens and Ziggler vs. Zayn.
The Riott Squad has been pretty whatever since its debut – it just seems like a weird assortment of talent to stick together. This match is all smoke and mirrors. What match are you most looking forward to at WrestleMania 34? The Smackdown exclusive show has such little bearing on WrestleMania or really any developments going forward, it’s nearly not worth watching.but I will.for I am a sucker.
