AJ Styles successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Sunday’s No Mercy pay-per-view, as he defeated John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a controversial triple threat match. We were well into the match before the first finishers, a pair of Attitude Adjustments from Cena, were hit. EWrestlingNews speculated that Orton may be next in line to fight for AJ Styles’ WWE World Championship, and with that and a recent Inquisitr WWE news report and partial predictions list in mind, this one could go to the Viper.

Carmella has attacked Bella from behind many times during her match, but this was one-on-one competition to prove who is worthy than the other. The triple threat match had some stellar moments and the conclusion of the match was creative as the most popular guy in the match, according to the live audience reaction, cheated to win. Plus, in the culmination of a longstanding rivalry in the SmackDown Women’s Division, Nikki Bella would go one-on-one with “The Princess of Staten Island” Carmella.

The Usos are coming into their own as heels right now, and with Rhyno campaigning, I can’t see the Usos losing this.

When No Mercy 2016 is looked back on, it likely won’t be recalled for a fantastic match or a big moment, but instead, the unusual order of the matches.

Two submission moves at the same time were too much for Styles, as he tapped and a confused ref decided that the match needed to continue.

Baron Corbin vs. Jack Swagger: More of an “in the middle” type of match than a true Hit or Miss. It could be the full revenge matches of the No Mercy event. Dolph Ziggler has lost the “big one” over and over again, and he is fed up. And that could lead to bigger things for Carmella if she wins at No Mercy.

Ziggler survived Maryse spraying perfume to his face, a distraction coming from his former Spirit Squad teammates Kenny and Mitch, and kicking out from a pair of Skull Crushing Finales before rallying back and hitting the Superkick for the victory. Dolph Ziggler remains in WWE, and is the Intercontinental Champion.

Attempting a Senton Splash on the ring steps, Orton countered and crashed Wyatt into them instead, with a backdrop into the fan barricade for good measure.
