WWE RAW Power Rankings: Kane’s Antics Won’t Stop Rollins
We’re two weeks away from Hell in a Cell and Raw was live from the Allstate Arena in the outskirts of Chicago on Monday night.
Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw will be the second-to-last show before the October 25 WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. It could be a bit of my millennial or Willennial mindset speaking, but it’s ultimately a case of having a reasonable knowledge of competent storytelling.
Follow along with our review of tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. We’ve got the full results of the show for you, so read on to find out what happened. But the next two and a half hours of RAW barely show that same type of awareness. That is a feat, and it’s not a good one.
5th Match – Neville and Cesaro vs King Barrett and Sheamus: To end the match, Barrett hit Neville with a Bull Hammer as he was draped across the second rope.
The other match that will take place inside Hell in a Cell is Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt. Even better? He drew on his past with Big E – they were paired together upon Big E’s debut on the main roster back in 2012 – in demanding a match to open the show.
Kane’s role as Director of Operations is on the line when he faces Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell. In 2015. And Big Show is actually an integral part of the main event.
In double-team action, New Day held on against Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton, as the advantage in the fight alternated back and forth from the very onset of the match.
Xavier Woods talks about how they laid out everyone at the end of the show last week, and then boasts that The New Day is better than The Shield, The Authority, Evolution, and Legacy.
Yeah, the lumberjack match broke down like they always do: Guys fighting each other, and then bringing Kane into the ring ready to beat him up when he sits up and clears them out. The crowd cottons on to what’s happening and goes absolutely boonta for you. Meanwhile, The Dudley Boyz also proved victorious, focusing their tag-team effort exclusively on destroying Viktor, and keeping Konnor completely sidelined. His point is Bray should not have pissed him off.
9th Match – Brie Bella and Alicia Fox vs Becky Lynch and Charlotte: Team Bella won the match after a commentating Paige hit Natalya and distracted Charlotte, whom was then pinned by Fox. How is that acceptable?
Nikki Bella defeats Naomi when Brie Bella grabs a microphone and starts making fun of the “We Want Sasha” chants. Two minute matches may be over, but five minutes are totally acceptable, especially in a RAW where everything feels shorter in service or Roman/Strowman and Seth/Kane. The commentary team kind of teased Rae for being out there while knowing Rusev was now engaged to Lana, something they didn’t even try to explain coming from Lana’s perspective.
What’s infuriating is how bad the creative team is, whether or not they’re being directed by Vince McMahon or Stephanie or whomever.
