WWE Royal Rumble 2016 preview and predictions
Brock Lesnar has played a big part on WrestleMania since returning to the big event at WrestleMania 28.
This week on W2M, we headline with our WWE Royal Rumble Preview, discussing our thoughts on all of the title matches and of course the Royal Rumble Match. It’s a fair argument to make that, of all the heavy hitters confirmed or rumored for this year’s match, Sheamus would benefit the most by walking away with Reigns’ belt.
WWE may be anxious of the reaction Reigns will get of winning back-to-back Royal Rumble matches even though he has been over with most crowds lately.
The build-up of this year’s Rumble has been focused entirely on Roman Reigns, though. Let’s wear our thinking caps and take a look. For fans who had no idea who Kevin Owens was, they were shown that his is a force to be reckoned with in the WWE. Kevin Owens is reaching the end of his first year in the WWE, and it has been as good of a first year as it can get, defeating John Cena in his debut match, as well as becoming the Intercontinental champion.
Next up, is the Eater of World’s Bray Wyatt taking on the eater of other thing’s, “The Big Guy” Ryback.
It’s unknown if an NXT wrestler will be in the match, though it’s not impossible that NXT champion Finn Balor could be one of the 30 participants. Word is another independent doctor recently cleared Bryan to wrestle.
I see a quite strong division, the best team now is probably The New Day.
Becky Lynch challenges Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte for the Diva’s Championship, while Kalisto challenges Alberto Del Rio for the United States Championship.
The Royal Rumble goes down this Sunday night, and wrestling fans are ready to be disappointed. Owens is one of the best talkers on the main roster now, but maybe the WWE has forgotten about that. A combination of untimely injury, a slew of new signings, and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line gives the Rumble something it has not had in a number of years: unpredictability.
One of the highlights of the Royal Rumble is the surprise entrants.
Expectations for this year’s Rumble aren’t especially high.
Sporting News still believes that Triple H is going to cause shenanigans and cheat to win the Rumble match and the title.
Brock Lesnar See the earlier “a-doy” for Roman Reigns. The company desperately needs something “special” and with Cena on the sidelines, I just don’t know where they get it from. And if the company really wanted to win over the diehard wrestling fans who complain about Raw every week, they could have Styles win the match and the title on his first day with the company, just like he did in New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2014.
“To be going into the ‘Royal Rumble, ‘ which is one of the biggest pay-per-views of the year and something I used to stay up watching from 1 a.m.to 4 a.m. back home in Ireland”. He has established himself as one of the best talents on the planet over the last two years and it’s no surprise that Vince McMahon has finally plucked up the courage to sign him following years of speculation about whether he would ever be seen in a WWE ring again.
