WWE: Sting Talks About ‘Night of Champions’ Match with Seth Rollins, Joining
He squares off against Sting, the challenger, who covets Rollins’ WWE title. They can wait until New Day cools off… if they ever do. That being said, Charlotte’s chances to become new Divas champ might have just increased. Oh right, WWE won’t mention that. That’s what makes them so unsympathetic – and so human. It might just be the best part of wrestling. “I’m relatively sure that WWE has their eyes on many of them”. Whether they cheat, or another team comes out to help them, New Day rocks at Night of Champions.
And in giving us these two title bouts, there’s no doubt the Authority are doing what’s best for business. Going forward, we now have two storylines in the women’s division. Natalya ended up fighting back and taking out Team BAD.
Summer Rae thanks Ziggler for the earrings he gave her Monday Night on Raw.
Wyatt and Reigns are another duo who have a match at Night of Champions, and the introduction of a third man could give reason for that feud to extend too.
Sasha Banks and Naomi arrive, along with Tamina, and this gets going.
Unfortunately, Lana getting injured was a massive body blow to this angle and storyline.
Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose beat Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt. I really hope this is all mind games, because I really don’t want Ziggler to be a skeeze.
“I still have an appreciation for where I am right now. What happened before that doesn’t really matter”. WWE did a fantastic job introducing the guy, and have positioned him to look like an absolute monster. Now, if they want do something similar to what TNA did with “Joker Sting”, that’s fine, I suppose.
Sheamus shows up as I think it, which means it’s totally happening.
Cena called Kiara “an inspiration to not only us in the ring, but to every single person outside the ring around the world”.
On wanting to see Undertaker vs. John Cena: “This match, if built properly, would be huge biz for WWE”. Ergo, Charlotte has Nikki beaten, and Paige costs her the match.
The story coming into this match has been, frankly, nonexistent.
We’re back to the action, and Kevin Owens has a sleeper hold cinched in tight on Ziggler. Instead, it’s the same old thing all the time. “It would have made a hell of a lot more sense to me. The success I have in the WWE is due to my wife as much as anybody else, because without her, I wouldn’t be here today”. I don’t see her being happy about the shenanigans going on between Dolph and Summer. His character is that of any bratty kid you’ve ever known; any slight against him leads to delightful bitching and moaning. Similarly, I think that The Ryback knows exactly who The Ryback is.
The match wasn’t anything special, but it bears noting that Sting is looking really good out there.
Earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to see a WWE house show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. They chanted, “Save the tables”. Slowly turning them heel was one of the best things WWE has done in years. I wouldn’t be upset of Rollins retained the title here, but I think Cena’s been a better champion and deserves another reign just to drop it to someone like Owens. They’re both great wrestlers with a ton of chemistry.
The gist: Rollins said that he will make history at Night of Champions by defending the WWE World Heavyweight and United States titles against future Hall of Famers Sting and John Cena on the same night and defeating them both. Guess who got pinned? Plus, by having the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the most popular wrestler in the world compete over it, WWE continues to elevate the United States Title. If you’re a heel, you act like a heel to anyone who recognizes you. Dolph hits a stinger splash; there’s a few pinning combinations, and then a Fame Asser for a two count. He’s now 56, which is still younger than Flair when he retired from WWE, but not by very much. The magazine asked Sting about his recent, controversial Raw promo that complimented Triple H, the man Sting lost to at WrestleMania 31. That’s why it’s so great for him to be facing Rollins.
