WWE Survivor Series: New champion crowned, Charlotte and Paige face off
Sheamus termed the Irish as among the hardest hitters in the world today and brought up the names of UFC star Conor McGregor and WWE NXT champion Finn Balor. The winners of the semifinal contests will square off for the title.
While the crowd chanted, “You look stupid!” at the new champion, he basked in the glory of the spotlight and raised the title belt high, taunting the crowd with a, “Who looks stupid now!?” chant of his own.
With that in mind, one has to wonder what may happen once Seth Rollins returns from injury. It seems doubtful Tyler Breeze and Summer Rae have seen the last of Dolph Ziggler. A distraction from Erick Rowan gave the heels a victory, and a predictable beat down took place afterwards. Either way, look for this to be a common copy of the Fandango vs. Chris Jericho rivalry a la WrestleMania 29. We may see some tables, but how about those ladders and chairs. As mentioned by the Rolling Stone, its turning out to be Reigns vs. the world since he will have to deal as well with the new (and monstrous) Authority faction, which now includes Rusev and King Barrett.
I guess we’re just going to forget about the Wyatts losing to The Undertaker and Kane on Sunday night? It felt like WWE only did this match because they had to. Lastly, the other big match is Charlotte defending her WWE Divas title against Paige, which WWE played the controversy play card on Raw with Paige mentioning Reid Flair’s death.
Paige cuts a promo backstage about Charlotte and why she lost to her. …
I have to admit, the angle immediately following last night’s main event at Survivor Series was very well executed.
Sunday night at the Survivor Series wasn’t any different. If this feud continues, Paige will have to do something dastardly to reassert herself as a threat. All in all though, this was the better of the two elimination matches of the entire evening. Charlotte winning clean was the right move, but the match could have been a bit better if they committed to a match style.
WWE’s COO entered the ring, Congratulate the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion and show unexpected respect to Roman reign as lifting his Hand but Roman reign Knows His Intention and Speared Triple H with full force.
After the match, Sheamus comes out to cash in his Money In The Bank contract. WWE did some good build-up to this match that I think helped Bray Wyatt. However, the party was quickly destroyed by Sheamus, who interrupted Reign’s celebration, hit him with two heavy Brogue Kicks, and apparently aligned himself with Triple H as The Authority’s next big heel.
