WWE: WCW icon Sting to join Hall of Fame Class of 2016
The Hall of Fame induction for one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation could be one last chance for Sting to take a bow after an incredible career.
If this is the end of Sting’s career, at least he could say that he wrestled for World Wrestling Entertainment and is a soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer. After getting his start as The Flash in the early ’80s, the wrestler born Steve Borden eventually became the face of the WCW for a decade, with his painted face and spikey, Platinum-dyed hair. Now a Dallas resident, Sting has had a few notable Dallas-related career turns. “The Crow” Sting and WCW would cash-in on this after a year in a title match of Sting vs Hulk Hogan at the biggest WCW pay per view of the year, Starrcade.
Ric Flair is said to be one of Sting’s fiercest rivals, as both had an epic feud for the now defunct WCW that is the stuff of legends.
Sting is the first inductee announced for the class of 2016 with an event planned to honor all future recipients on April 2 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas during WrestleMania week.
WWE, a publicly traded company (NYSE: WWE), is an integrated media organization and recognized leader in global entertainment.
Previous year at Wrestlemania 31 Sting made his in-ring debut for the WWE against Triple H. Triple H came out on top in a cluster of a match that featured the NWO and DX. The idea of seeing Sting at WrestleMania, let alone at any WWE event, was something fans thought would never happen.
WWE has announced that wrestling icon Sting will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Brian Isley from BoomBoxLife Radio also joins the guys during the second half of the show to talk a bit more about Cena’s injury, the NJPW and Monday Night Raw’s weird, weird ending.
