X Factor dream is over for Mason Noise
Despite co-host Olly Murs claiming he wasn’t going to announce who was leaving after messing up last week, he DID give Mason the bad news.
But Mason was surprisingly upbeat, and said: “Thank you for everyone who voted and thank you for every one who didn’t vote”.
He added: “Imma gonna go do my thing now”.
His version of “Jealous” by Nick Jonas was criticised by Simon Cowell for being “a little bit cold”, but his mentor Nick Grimshaw said immediately after his exit that Mason was a “visionary”.
He said: “He has so many great deas”. What he lacked was vulnerability, and we don’t think in the eyes of the public he ever fully recovered from the incident at the Six Chair Challenge where he and Simon Cowell got into a verbal back-and-forth that led to him being eliminated for a time.
Viewers were given just 10 minutes to cast their votes after all the acts had performed on Saturday’s show.
Tune in tomorrow night when another act will leave the competition.
He defended himself on The X Factor in a massive outburst on live TV.
The contestant, mentored by Simon Cowell, got dry emotional at the end of his rendition of One Sweet Day before having a rather awkward moment with judge Nick Grimshaw.
Nick said that while his voice was technically good he wasn’t sure the singer was someone he’d want to listen to at home because he didn’t believe the emotion, which upset Anton slightly as he argued that he “wasn’t fake”.
Nick went first, saying: “Anton, liked your dining room by the way”. Erm, here is what I think.
“I’m not being abrasive I just need to put you straight”.
“This is not an act”, he continued.
As for Mason’s own career, watch this space – we guess!
The singer was seen getting visibly annoyed and he quickly shut down Grimmy saying: “There’s nothing fake about me”.
Special guests Ed Sheeran and Rudimental thrilled with their performance of Lay It All On Me.
