Xbox boss shoots down Xbox One mini rumors
Microsoft is still confident about its deployment schedule for the Windows 10-based Xbox One UI.
Microsoft Corporation’s October event is shrouded in mystery with a lot of expectations from the company. Now, thanks to Head of Xbox Phil Spencer, we can put this rumor to bed, as the man himself has said on Twitter that the Xbox One Mini is “not real”. Spencer shut down the rumor with an unusually blunt tweet on Thursday, as first reported by the Verge. Apparently, it would also drop the ability to play Blu-ray discs.
The leak came from a Chinese blog, ‘WPDang’ which claims to have acquired details and specifications on the mini Xbox One. Users turning to downloaded content for gameplay could have turned out to be a deal breaker.
While the Xbox One Mini definitely won’t be happening the Lumia flagships; Cityman and Talkman, new Surface tablets including the Surface Pro 4, the eagerly awaited Band 2 and perhaps even a slimmer Xbox One is still a possibility at the event. Is that going to be the future of console, no drive bay? And starting from September, Xbox Live Gold members will receive four games every month, since Xbox 360 games offered through this program have now been made compatible with Xbox One.
