Xbox February update hits Xbox One tomorrow, Windows 10 today
The Xbox One February update will roll out to the Xbox app Thursday and to the Xbox One Friday.
For starters, like you used to be ablde to do on the 360, you can now see who else is in a friend’s party at the push of a button from the Friendslist. The update additionally boasts an improved Suggested Friends feature, along with a Gamerscore leaderboard that lets players compare their in-game progress and achievements with rivals. Xbox One owners will also have a restored Gamerscore Leaderboard and be able to hide the “ready to install” list.
There is some new stuff with the latest Xbox One system software update that wasn’t revealed earlier. You’ll also be able to keep up with the latest Xbox News, as it is available in your activity feed. Friend broadcasts will now be displayed within Game Hubs and game-specific tiles, giving a heads-up for players seeking live-streamed content.
The Community area on your console will now have a Friend Suggestions area, meant to help you find people you might already know or the best content creators on the platform. You can check out the full list of features coming to Xbox One on the Major Nelson website.

Other features such as the new Avatar Store and Xbox News (which were seen in the beta release of the Xbox App) will also make their official debut thanks to this update. Microsoft is also making it a bit easier to organize your home screen by making it easier to rearrange pins by simply pressing Y on them to move them around. Selecting the new item link will take you right back to the top with the newest items up there for you to see. This month’s release includes an interface which the X1 and X2 functions on the Chatpad keypad to be set. Microsoft is bringing them back to the forefront a bit, with a new dedicated Avatar store where players can shop for new customization options for their virtual self.
Compact view. The phone-like Compact view now provides additional functions so you can quickly switch between your friends’ view, your party, messages, and activity alerts.
