Xherdan Shaqiri: Stoke City could still sign Inter Milan winger
Bayern Munich, who let Shaqiri join Inter in January with strings attached, also have a vested interest in his sale and could yet influence the final outcome.
“Earning €1 million (£710,000) more or less should be irrelevant”.
Inter are ready to make a move for Liverpool forward Fabio Borini when Xherdan Shaqiri makes his switch to Stoke City, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport.
“But nothing is certain in the transfer market when the window is open”.
Oh, and lucky old Shaqiri too, who gets to leave Milan for Stoke.
“It is very important for me to have the coach behind me showing great belief in me, and Mark Hughes has done that”, the 23-year-old told Stoke’s official website.
Hughes is not counting his chickens just yet, but it looks like a deal is back on after the player had a change of heart.
Shaqiri is nicknamed “the Alpine Messi” and “the magic dwarf”, not because of size but because he was the second best player after Lionel Messi and not Cristiano Ronaldo.
Shaqiri also arrives at Stoke with an impressive trophy haul.
Gone are the days of the Potters slogging their ways to 0-0 draws simply trying to survive another Premier League season.
Stoke was believed to have signed the winger a month ago, but the former Bayern Munich ace failed to reach an earlier agreement with the club.
But Adam remains excited about the potential of Mark Hughes’ Stoke squad, with the latter having confirmed Monday that talks have resumed to sign Switzerland worldwide Shaqiri from Inter.
The fleet-footed winger joined the German champions in 2012 from Swiss giants Basel, after impressing in his home country and catching the eye of many clubs.
France worldwide Mathieu Valbuena has signed for Lyon on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
