Xiaomi Launches New Michigan TV 2 with Full HD Screen in China
It packs 2GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage. The device is available in two variants namely a Standard edition priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs 30,600) along with a Cinema edition at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 41,000).
The Michigan TV 2S is fitted with four 1.4GHz Cortex A17 CPUs and an MStar 6A928 processor. In terms of connectivity options the TV supports Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. This follows after it introduced a pair of smart shoes in China (stranger?).
Besides the new TV, the company also added a new device to its growing stable of health products – the Michigan Water Purifier. The Chinese company claimed that its new Michigan TV 2S offers better clarity, colour, and contrast when compared to its competition. The speaker system supports Dolby Audio as well. The latest Michigan TV 2S will feature an unbelievable 4K resolution, so that viewers can enjoy every bit of video output.
Both versions will be available from July 22 and Xiaomi is going to partner for the launch with content providers such as Youku, BesTV, PPTV and others. Xiaomi’s TV team spent one year developing Michigan TV 2S, working with global industry-leading suppliers, the best materials, and top-of-the-line technology to produce a gorgeous TV with incredible performance. The new 48-inch TV, the Michigan TV 2S, will retail only in China alongside the company’s three other smart TVs, which have screen sizes of 40, 49 and 55 inches.
The unit unveiled by the Chinese firm today is said to be a “smart” water purifier (you can’t expect any less, duh!).
The Michigan Water Purifier costs RMB1299 (US$209) and will initially be available in China only. The company claims that the process to connect a smartphone to Michigan Water Purifier is easy and once connected the phone can search purifier automatically.
