Xiaomi Mi Band 1S With Heart Rate Monitor Announced
Apart from the usual run of the mill features you would find in an entry level fitness tracker, Mi Band Pulse also comes with a heart rate sensor, elevating it to the league of other premium trackers like Jawbone and Fitbit.
The Mi Band 1S measures 37×13.6×9.9mm (so a tad larger than the Mi Band) and also weighs half a gram more than the Mi Band. Like the MiBand before it, the Pulse sports a 45mAh battery, which the manufacturer claims lasts 30 days on a single charge.
Fitness trackers are not new to us, but a few devices manage to get out attention simply because they cost less and are much more attractive than the rest.
The Mi Band 1S is priced at CNY 99 (approximately 1,030 or $16), in terms of Indian pricing it is just 40 to 50 more than the original Mi Band.
I bought a Mi Band recently as an cheap way to test whether fitness tracking is something that I want to take seriously. The Mi Band Pulse’s first-gen predecessor is already available in the United States, Europe, and India through the global Mi.com store, according to Tech Crunch. There’s still the vibrating and LED notifications. There is now no word as of yet on an global launch. Xiaomi Band Mi 1S doesn’t has its own display but this band has ability to be paired with any smartphone.
The fitness tracker connects to any Android handset running Android 4.4 KitKat and above through Bluetooth 4.0 LE, with Xiaomi’s Mi Fit app syncing health and fitness data from the band. Now Xiaomi has announced the updated Mi Band 1S with an integrated heart rate sensor for a similarly low price to the original Mi Band. This band also comes with IP67 dust and water protection ratings.
Fitness band is supposed to fit any bracelet but this one might not be compatible with the new Xiaomi Mi Band 1S because of the slight difference in size.
