Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S bezel-less smartphone launched: Price, specifications and features

The device also provides support for USB Type C with wireless charging. The Mi Mix 2S is even half of the price of Apple’s flagship, beginning at about 527 dollars. The device is pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo on top of MIUI 9 user interface.

Xiaomi will open up sales of the Mi Mix 2S in China starting in April with configurations including 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB.

The phone comes in two variants -one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage and the other with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

It will sell for around $15, though it is unknown whether it will be available outside of China.

Since plus variants of Xiaomi’s flagship phone have been rumoured in the past as well, but because none of them actually happened for real, the report adds that the company may be working on a Mi 7 Plus but that doesn’t mean it will eventually launch one. It will be available from Mi.com and the Mi Home Stores. That works out to an aspect ratio of 18:9. To allow heavy multitasking, Xiaomi has coupled the processor with 8GB RAM in the top model while the cheaper ones get an ample 6GB RAM. It continues with a similar ceramic and metal frame design like the previous phone.

The Mi Mix 2S is also shipping with support for augmented reality experiences.

Xiaomi’s iPhone X competitor, the Mi Mix 2S, was unveiled by the Chinese company to solid reviews. The focus is on Augmented Reality features like scene recognition. The telephoto camera lets you take photos of distant objects with 2x optical zoom without any significant loss in detail. Xiaomi claims that the optimisation gone into the MIX 2S has yielded an AnTuTu score of 277178, which is class leading. Other features include 1.25μm pixel, ƒ/2.0 aperture, PDAF autofocus and two-tone flash. The front-facing camera is now placed at the bottom and it can capture real-time AI portraits. The base variants for the smartphone has 6GB of RAM along with 64GB128GB of storage space.

A rounded fingerprint sensor is present at the back of the Mix 2S like its predecessor.

Furthermore, Mi Mix 2 houses a 3400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. The wireless charger has been priced at CNY 99 (roughly Rs 1,000).

The device is powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU. The unit carrying 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage has a price tag equivalent to $575 United States dollars.
