Xiaomi Redmi 5 with 3300mAh battery to launch next week
Xiaomi has been teasing the launch of a “Desh ka Smartphone” on social media for a couple of weeks now. Perhaps, that’s something they’re saving for the higher end models. While other specs of the handset seem to be similar to the ones of the Redmi 5, the Redmi 5 Plus will have something extra to offer.
India’s leading smartphone maker Xiaomi is gearing up to launch on November 30 a new smartphone designed for the masses.
Apart from the date, the company has also shown the smartphone in several promotional images that yet again confirm its design. That’s a huge step up from the Redmi 4’s 5-inch 16:9 HD (1280×720) display. As per the reliable reports, it will have 5.7-inch HD+ (1440x720p) screen with 18:9 aspect ratio, making the first-ever budget phone to boast FullView display. This time the smartphone bezels have shrunk a bit a giving a lot of space for the actual display, so, the company is most likely to use the software navigation keys just like the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2. A 2.0GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor runs the phone with the help of 3GB/4GB RAM. The Redmi 5 is kept running by a 3,300 mAh battery. It has 16GB onboard storage, 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The new phone will be under Redmi series and we think it could be Xiaomi Redmi 5A. The screen’s resolution also gets a boost. This new Redmi device may help Xiaomi target these areas by offering better features and availablilty of service centers. The Xiaomi R1 is expected to feature a rear fingerprint scanner as well. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite has the same display as the Redmi Y1. The announcement also revealed that the Redmi 5 Plus will be announced alongside its smaller sibling. These prices translate into approximately $106 and $151 respectively.
A few hours before the official announcement from Xiaomi, the Redmi 5 was spotted on China Telecom’s website revealing its full specifications and images.
