Xiaomi to unveil Michigan 4c flagship device on 22 September
However, the Michigan 4C – as it’s being called – is expected to boast higher-end specifications.
Xiaomi will hold an event on September 22, to establish all of the features coming to the Michigan 4C, but most of its specs have already been revealed. This is probably because the company couldn’t come up with a proper Mi 4 successor, so the Mi 4c is seen as a momentary solution until the Mi 5 is released. The Chinese-exclusive model packs a 13MP photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 5MP camera for video calls and such. TENAA documents and leaks revolving around the Mi 4c indicate that the new mid-range smartphone will be placed between the Xiaomi Mi 4 and Mi 4i and will be carrying a very competitive price tag to give the bigger brands a tough fight. It will ship running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop underneath Xiaomi’s own MIUI 7 layer. Other features include dual-band 802.11ac WiFi, LTE, and first for a Xiaomi device, USB Type-C. While saving a few bucks on the charger for Xiaomi, the Adapter will benefit Mi4c users a lot. The large amount of Redmi Note 2 sales is keeping the supply line busy. For the time being, there are no official details regarding the pricing of the Xiaomi Michigan 4c.
The Michigan 4C will start shipping on October 3. Keep in mind that the company will manufacture only 100,000 Xiaomi Michigan 4C, so this will essentially be a limited edition handset.
According to Digital Trends, pre-ordering will become available on September 22 once the main unveiling event is over.
