Yahoo Mail Gets Custom Swipes and Notification Actions
Yahoo just made a couple of Yahoo Mail announcements. The app – which primarily delivers the latest news and weather updates – has gotten a redesign to make it easier for you to read and discover content. The news on your front page is delivered by a combination of author picks and stories that may interest you based on your reading habits. The update is rolling out now on the web and at Google Play, so check it out whenever you get a chance.
Says Yahoo, this update, among other things, enables its users to access more content faster than before, eliminating the need to open articles in different tabs.
Meanwhile, Android users will be able to manage their inbox as soon as an email arrives without opening the Yahoo Mail app. Each message will come with a pop-up allowing you to use your chosen swipe-left and right options in the notification box.
You’ll find the new customizable swipe options under Settings Swipe actions. Now you can personalize your swipes with your favorite actions, including “star”, “move to folder” and “archive” (if you have multiple mailboxes) to help you save time.
Download that right here. “The actions available in your notifications are the same ones you’ve selected for swipe actions”.
Yahoo has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately, such as unwanted texts to Sprint customers, the shutdown of their Yahoo Screen service and budget cuts calling for tons of jobs to go down the drain. While composing a mail, the app will now show the recently received photos and file attachments, along with a search bar to easily attach it to the mail.In addition, the ability to create, delete and rename folders (and subfolders) is also included.
