Yo-Kai Watch Release Date Revealed

Yo-Kai Watch, Level-5’s exceptionally successful cross media franchise that began as a series of 3DS RPGs, will finally arrive in North America on November 6th according to Nintendo.

Yo-Kai Watch is an RPG in which players assume the role of a boy capable of seeing and interacting with Yo-kai, which are ordinarily invisible. “Our young hero obtains a special watch, empowering him to discover and summon Yo-kai, befriend them and then work together to solve everyday problems… problems that are often caused by other troublemaking Yo-kai!”

While the game is coming on the sixth, the manga is coming on November 3rd (by Viz Media), as well as the anime sometime this fall (via Disney XD).

Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, talked to IGN about the importance of Yo-Kai Watch earlier this year, believing the game could drive 3DS hardware sales. Hasbro’s line will include toys and games centered around collectible medals, each representing a unique Yo-kai.

Yo-Kai Watch has become a sensation in Japan, raking in over $1 billion with toys and merchandise.
