Yoga does not differentiate between rich and poor: Narendra Modi

It is learned that in order to mark the International Yoga Day, people who have been shortlisted to perform the yoga session along with the Prime Minister started lining up at the complex venue today on Tuesday around 4:00 AM.
Over 500 students of different age groups participated in the celebration of Yoga Day by performing various Yoga Asanas as per the Common Yoga Protocol. There has been a huge turnout despite early thundershowers.
Urging people to make it a part of their lives, Modi said Yoga is like a zero budget health insurance.

The prime minister later got down from the stage from where he addressed the gathering to shake hands with specially-abled yoga enthusiasts.
Sydney, Australia: Hundreds take part in a yoga event in front of the iconic Sydney Opera House. Of this, over 30,000 were picked, including 10,000 each from Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana. These selected people had also undergone training for the past 15 days to finally join in with the Prime Minister.
His ministers were also dispatched to cities around India to stretch and bend alongside schoolchildren, while the navy tweeted photos of sailors on mats atop an aircraft carrier in Mumbai. Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Smriti Irani participated in various yoga events to pledge support. With the world facing the challenges of climate change and disorder, he said he hoped that the International Yoga Day can spur action to attain the SDGs. “The benefits are many”, Modi added in another tweet. She pointed out that yoga doesn’t belong to any particular religion and is also practised by atheists.
On the occasion, Modi announced two awards, one national and the other worldwide, that would be given for promotion of yoga by the Indian government on the 3rd global Yoga Day. Apps were launched for smartphones to help people incorporate yoga into their day to day activities.
“The event will provide ample opportunity for the participants to practice yoga and learn about the positive impacts of yoga in everyone’s life”, the President said in his message.
