Two children were killed when a tree limb fell on their tent at Yosemite national park in California, the US national park service says.
Park Rangers responded to the campsite to provide medical assistance, but found both minors to be deceased.
“Our thoughts are with the families as they grieve this tragedy”, the park’s superintendent, Don Neubacher said.
Yosemite declined to release the names, ages or place of residence of the victims but said the incident was under investigation.
In 2012, a parks concession employee died when his tent cabin was hit by a falling limb.
Largely wooded Upper Pines is a 238-site campground near Curry Village.
