You can pre-order an iPad Pro today
Apple’s iPad Pro goes on sale this week, with online orders starting Wednesday and the newest iPad to arrive on store shelves starting later this week.
The new iPad Pro features a 12.9-inch Retina display with 5.6m pixels – the most ever in an iOS device.
Touting the capabilities of the iPad Pro tablet during the Monday interview, Cook said that the tablet can possibly become a ideal PC substitute for several customers because of its notable accessories like the Smart Keyboard and the Apple Pencil.
Apple is pitching it as “the most powerful iPad we’ve ever made”. Equipped with a 64-bit A9X chip, the tablet will ensure smooth performance providing an enjoyable experience to users. Like the other iPads, the iPad Pro is available in gold, silver and space gray. It is joined in the company’s eco-sphere by the Apple Pencil, which can be used for “fine art illustration and detailed 3D design” according to Apple, while the new smart keyboard takes the product into laptop territory. Apple Pencil will be priced at $99 and the Smart Keyboard will be available for $169.
Apple unveiled the larger iPad Pro on Wednesday, September 9, hoping to rival Microsoft Corp’s 12-inch Surface Pro 3 in attracting business customers.
The £679 price is for the entry-level WiFi-only model, which comes with 32GB of storage, while the top-of-the-range WiFi and mobile data model, with 128GB of storage, costs £899.
In a post by Mac Rumors, Apple already began accepting orders for the new iPad pro, strategically revealing “A Great Big Universe” 2 days prior. Staples and MacMall already listed the device and started taking preorders for the iPad Pro. This is happening for two main reasons: Those who have an iPad don’t see a reason to upgrade it every two to three years, as they do their iPhone.
