‘You Had One Job!’: Twitter Roasts Steve Harvey For Miss Universe Debacle

First, the big reveal came out wrong after host Steve Harvey announced that Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, was the victor when the card he should have read off stated that Miss Philippines, Mia Wurtzbach, was the real pageant victor.

Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo initially was crowned and blew kisses to the audience for a few minutes on live television before Harvey returned to the stage with an apology.

The long-time comedian did apologize to both Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines and said he is very regretful.

Manny Pacquiao says he has been inspired by Filipino Pia Wurtzbach who won the Miss Universe trophy – and in doing so avenged the boxer’s defeat to Floyd Mayweather back in May. Just a day later, however, she was told she’d actually won the prize of runner-up.

Meanwhile, Colombia’s President Juan Manuel Santos had to reverse a celebratory tweet after discovering that Miss Colombia had been mistakenly named the victor.
