Young Arkansas mother took selfie of boyfriend pointing gun at her, hours
The photos were taken on Sunday.
Hours after the selfie was posted this past weekend, 21-year-old Stephanie Hernandez was found shot to death in her ransacked home.
Police searched her phone and social media accounts to find that she posted one picture of a gun and ammo in her house over the weekend.
The caption on the Snapchat read “Strap chat?”, punning a slang term for carrying a gun.
These are the chilling Snapchat selfies sent by a young mum hours before she was found dead.
Charged: Rafael Gonzalez, 20, has been charged with first-degree murder.
It’s unclear what led to Gonzalez allegedly shooting his girlfriend. According to a friend, Gonzalez “accidentally shot Hernandez” and Gonzalez “routinely plays around with a pistol”.
“They were disturbing to see (Gonzalez) holding a gun”, Hernandez’s uncle Rey Hernandez told KARK.
Gonzales has pleaded not guilty to murder.
“I knew his history and everything, and I knew he was a bad influence”, Davis told KATV. I was just here with her yesterday! I don’t understand how anybody could do that.
Now they’re left to explain to Hernandez’s little girls what happened. “I haven’t told my 3-year-old niece anything yet. She knows something is wrong because she wants her mom”.
Hernandez’s friend Jaquinlan Davis was at the house Monday to gather Hernandez’s belongings, and told KATV that he was so concerned about the new boyfriend he considered trying to get Hernandez to leave with him.
Davis said he saw Hernandez make a peculiar purchase for her boyfriend the same day she was killed.
