Young Royals Visit Cornwall
Historic Restormel Manor, close to the medieval town of Lostwithiel near Bodmin, can sleep 18 in its five double bedrooms and four twin bedrooms, and costs £1,700 a week to rent, but this rises to £2,650 in high season. Kate’s family the Middletons previously stayed there in 2010, paying roughly £3,000 for their booking over Christmas. Clad in a new, blush-hued number by United States designer Lela Rose, the royal gave some serious end-of-summer vibes as she joined Prince William on a visit to Truro Cathedral. William will one day inherit the duchy’s extensive revenues-which past year came to £20m ($26.6M)-when his father Prince Charles becomes king.
But it was a case of lightning striking twice for the builder from Redruth, Cornwall, who got himself a remarkably similar selfie in his hard hat and hi-vis vest with Prince Charles in 2014. Earlier today she looked fresh and cheerful in a pale rose dress by Lela Rose as she and William met members of the public outside Truro Cathedral in Cornwall.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte will then join their parents for a royal tour in Canada later this month. The royal couple were delighted to greet onlookers at their first stop, Truro Cathedral, but it was Kate Middleton’s presence which cheered bystanders.
The pair will be visiting the Truro Cathedral to sign slates in support of its appeal to raise funds for roof repairs.
The Cambridges will also visit Newquay’s famous Towan beach where children are taught to surf by the Wave Project, an organisation that uses the activity to help reduce anxiety in young people and improve their mental wellbeing.
Child mental health has become one of the main pillars of the pairs charity work, and last week made a low key visit to the YoungMinds helpline service in London.
They will tour the islands of St. Mary’s, Tresco and St. Martin’s, where they are to learn about the region’s industries and businesses.
