Your First Look at ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’
After a long, long 11 year wait, Universal Pictures has announced that Bridget Jones’s Baby, the second sequel to Bridget Jones’s Diary, has begun filming.
The actress was seen sporting a false baby bump as she shot scenes outside a supermarket in Woolwich in London on Wednesday (7 October). True enough, Renee Zellweger will reprise her role as the lovable Bridget Jones in the third installment of the franchise, “Bridget Jones’s Baby”, which will finally add a modern twist to the iconic story.
However it was the 46-year-old’s burgeoning belly that drew most attention, as she carried a large shopping bag. Colin Firth is said to comeback as Bridget’s dashing husband Mark but Hugh Grant, who played Daniel Cleaver, Bridget’s ex-boyfriend and notorious playboy, will be giving the movie a pass.
It is thought the latest blockbuster, which is being directed by Sharon Maguire, could be based on the writer’s old columns. & this time there is a baby on board.
Not much is known about the plot of the movie, but it reportedly differs from Helen Fielding’s last book, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy”, which shocked fans by killing off Darcy. A first pic of Renée Zellweger’s return as Bridget, clutching a red iPad instead of a notebook, was also tweeted along with the announcement.
The trio were surrounded by children in a nod to the more mature side of Bridget that we’re expected to see when she returns.
According to IMDb, it is slated for release in the United Kingdom in September next year.
