YouTube just launched a redesigned app and shared even more growth stats
Youtube has rolled out an iOS update which allows the video streaming app to display videos in portrait mode making it easier for users to watch vertically shot videos.
YouTube for Android v. 10.28.59 is now available in the Play Store. This is not the case with v10.
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Yesterday, YouTube also released its first 360-degree video ad, which will enable the advertisers to explore a format developed for virtual reality content. The new ad format will allow YouTube users to tilt their mobile device or drag their mouse and view ads from all angles.
A new Subscriptions tab helps you find the latest videos from your favorite channels and creators. A bell icon on the top corner of the app notifies you with the most recent videos.
The Account tab lets you check your playlists, watch history and the videos you’ve uploaded in one location. In the Trending tab, popular trending videos from across the world are showcased.
Overall the new app is the new standard Material Design look that Google has been hocking for over a year now.
YouTube is receiving a big update that freshens up the user interface and brings new editing tools, plus the proper display of vertical videos that we covered earlier this week.
Other announcements by Wojcicki included the 12-step process of YouTube’s live-stream feature would be reduced to 3-step process.
