Yuddham Sharanam Movie Review & Rating (3/5)
The Telugu action-thriller film, produced by Sai Korrapati on Varahi Chalana Chitram banner has Lavanya Tripathi in a lead role opposite Naga and has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Also, the Story of Yuddham Sharanam is by David R Nathan. Editing by Kripakaran who is also a debutante is quite disappointing. After Pelli Choopulu Priyadarshi entertained the audience with his comedy.
This is Naga Chaitanya’s movie coming after a decent hit like “Rarandoi Veduka Chudham”. Here is the Yuddham Sharanam movie complete review, rating, story.
“Yuddham Sharanam” is a big disappointment to put it bluntly. Naga Chaitanya and Lavanya make a wonderful on-screen couple and their romantic sub-plot is a delight to watch. Murali Sharma, as a corrupt investigating officer, and a minor villain who threatens the family earlier in the film, get better character arcs than Srikanth’s character, who fits the one word description of “thug”.
The film has realistic touch regarding characterizations and story.
Vivek Sagar’s music is another highlight of this film. These moments involving the parents, Arjun, his sisters, friends and the young doctor who comes for an internship (Lavanya) unravel beautifully, accentuated by Vivek Sagar’s lilting music – “Enno Enno Bhaavale” is a victor.
Yuddham Sharanam has good things but they are not fresh. After his massy role in Ranrandoi Veudka Chuddam, he took on a power packed action role in Yuddham Sharanam. However, the film has failed to live up to the audiences’ expectations. This storyline has been used widely in many movies.
There’s a nice scene in which Rao Ramesh likens his tug of war with his son Arjun (Naga Chaitanya) to “entertainment”. The better part of the first half travellers back and forth in time, introducing us to the attractive family of Arjun (Naga Chaitanya), his girlfriend, friends, and a hasty bomb blast investigation led by NIA officer JD Shastri, played by Murali Sharma. What are the unexpected events and how he will be resolving is the story. As the ruthless villain, he is convincing. The actors Revathi and Rao Ramesh acted well in Chaitanya’s parent’s roles. All the other actors have been good in their assignments.
The public response was great for this film. Directed by debutant Krishna RV Marimuthu, and Lavanya Tripathi as the female lead. Naga Chaitanya as Arjun has given a matured performance.
However, the film is not about the family – it’s about revenge with the family thrown in as the excuse. Music by Vivek Sagar steals the show. First half of the movie is average with the family bonding, emotions and love track between the Chaitu and Lavanya whereas second half is all about play between Arjun and Nayak which is not so entertaining.
