Zac Efron Cast In Baywatch Reboot
Together they team up to protect their beach from getting taken over by an oil mogul.
Now, Efron is apparently being lined up to star opposite none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in a big screen version of the Baywatch movie being directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses). Production is slated to commence early next year.
Beau Flynn, collaborating with Johnson for the fourth time, and Ivan Reitman are producing.
Efron will soon be seen in the upcoming comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates along with Adam Devine, Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza.
Efron will also star in a sequel to Bad Neighbours and has Bad Grandpa with Robert De Niro due in 2016. All three movies are set for a 2016 release.
Now that his High School Musical days are long over, Efron’s been acting in all sorts of projects, from frat comedies to his upcoming, hilariously ill-fated turn as a DJ in the EDM flick We Are Your Friends. With the Fast & Furious movies and this summer’s San Andreas, Johnson is popular the world over. The film would seek to combine comedic, dramatic, and action elements.
