Zach Mettenberger Calls Out J.J. Watt for Letterman Jacket, Rekindles Petty
During the game against the Titans, Watt sacked Mettenberger and celebrated by mimicking him with a selfie pose.
Before his first National Football League start against the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger posted a few selfies.
Watt responded Wednesday via Twitter to the latest comments from Mettenberger.
It was kind of a silly thing to suggest that taking selfies keeps someone from being a good football player, not to mention more than a little hypocritical given that Watt is no stranger to taking selfies himself.
Almost nine months later, the spat has resurfaced after Mettenberger fired back at Watt. “Then ESPN asked me to send a selfie to them pregame”. At the same time, if that’s high school-ish, he got a letterman’s jacket made-a Texans letterman’s jacket-that’s pretty high school-ish to me, don’t you say?
Second, J.J. Watt’s ultra-seriousness might come off as a wee bit self-righteous at times, but is anyone really going to argue against the results?
“A lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of a sheep”.
It all started last season, when then-rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger took a selfie celebrating his new haircut and posted it to Instagram. Time to attack the day. Mettenberger waited a long time before issuing a response and ripped Watt and the rest of the Texans for ordering team letterman jackets to wear on a 2012 road trip to New England.
