Zayn Malik to leave Syco
For now, the 22-year-old and Syco are still associated.
According to the rumors, Syco, Cowell’s music label, dropped Malik, who already moved to another Sony label, reported Entertainment Weekly.
One Direction is one of the premier acts on Simon’s Syco label and rumours heated up this week claiming Zayn was dropped as an act due to his decision to leave the group.
However, even if Malik was to leave Syco it may only be a minor detail as it is nearly certain that Malik would remain with Sony on one of their own labels with the attendant marketing muscle of the conglomerate.
“Simon has set up a deal that suits Zayn and One Direction“.
A source said: “It’s a huge move for Simon “cause Zayn could have a very favorable solo career yet his priority without question remains the band and this is a huge acknowledgment on his part””.
“Since leaving the band, Zayn has changed management and lawyers so it would kind of make sense for him to work with a new label team”. Rapper Mic Righteous previously remarked that Malik is banned from releasing any solo music for two years. Rumors swirled that he was working on his secret solo project.
The move means that Zayn won’t release any of his solo albums on the same label as his former bandmates.
The former One Direction singer had some not-so-nice words for the producer as it seems that he thinks the producer could be responsible for leaking the clips online.
