‘Zombie nativity scene’ angers religious groups in US
An Arizona-based toy company recently announced that it would begin selling a zombie Nativity kit complete with an undead angel and donkey for the 2016 Christmas season.
It’s the second year Dixon has put the display in his front yard, and each year he’s faced opposition.
According to Sycamore township officials, Dixon now faces a 0 fine for each day he leaves the nativity up – which is why he’s been accepting donations since earlier this year.

That upset has included protests from local religious groups who’ve left pamphlets in the manger, and then there have been comments on Dixon’s Facebook page.
An Ohio man is being fined by the city for having a zombie nativity scene set up in his front yard.
He was fined $500 on Friday. While we have to respect the Dixons for refusing to give up on their dreams (to create the creepiest nativity scene ever), it also seems like the zombie Christmas scene is an attention play.

When asked what exactly local authorities might not like about a life-sized display featuring a cross-legged, razor-toothed zombie Jesus surrounded by undead wise men bent on flesh, Dixon said: “I think it’s the theme. It just rubs people the wrong way and it puts the spotlight on me”, he said. “That’s why they’re coming down so hard on me”.
He said the exhibit has also garnered mixed reviews among the general population. Ms Dixon said they thought they were in compliance this year.
