ZTE announces global launch of Axon Elite

The dual-sim ZTE Axon Elite will have a full HD display with the resolution of 1080X1920 pixels.

The User Experience Gold Award was given to ZTE Axon Phone by the IDG and German Industry and Commerce Ltd. ZTE Mobile Device CEO, Adam Zeng had this to say about the award, “We are both honored and excited to receive this award for Axon, our new global flagship smartphone”. Starting from the end of September, ZTE will partner with MediaMarkt to sell the Axon Elite on the open market in Germany, the device’s first offline launch, and will continue rollout of the device in Spain, France, Turkey, Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Russian Federation and the Philippines.

The Axon Elite’s design is going to appeal to some people, but others will really hate it. It’s made with aluminium, but has fake leather stitched portions at the top and bottom of the rear case that we really don’t like.

In ZTE’s press release, they note that they are the only Chinese smartphone brand to receive a 2015 IFA Product Technical Innovation Award.

The fingerprint sensor, as well as “triple biometric authentication” (fingerprint, voice, and iris scanning) first appeared on the “Axon Lux” version of the phone in China, but all sorts of insane stuff happens in China.

On the back side there is a 13MP camera while on the front an 8-megapixel shooter has been embed thus taking some pretty good looking selfies. This includes eye-scan, voice control and fingerprint. Throw in a microSD card slot, and you’ve got the scoop on the ZTE Axon Elite’s innards.

The camera features are also interesting but not so unusual these days as HTC and Huawei have recently used similar tech in their smartphones. We also quite like the ability to capture multiple exposures in one image for a dreamy effect. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. This smartphone is also equipped with a 3,000mAh non-removable battery. It comes with Haptic feedback feature, and offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/AGPS.
