The letter, signed by MKs Ayman Odeh, Aida Touma-Sliiman, Dov Khenin, Yousef Jabareen and Abdullah Abu Ma’aruf, concludes with a hope that they can work together with Corbyn and his party.
Ms Qureshi was particularly pleased and said she felt Mr Corbyn did a “brilliant job”.
It is thought that the 45-year-old will bring vital experience to Mr Corbyn’s cabinet having held top positions in the past including Health Secretary and Culture Secretary and Chief Secretary to the Treasury when Labour were last in power.
In broadcast interviews this evening Mr Corbyn softened his tone on Britain’s European Union membership and said he would back down on the welfare cap if his party did not agree.
Earlier Jeremy Corbyn said he wanted to re-build Labour in the rural communities and re-engage with rural voters.
Corbyn has recently come under scrutiny for his purported ties to people with anti-Israel and anti-Semitic views, including conspiracy theorists who blame the 9/11 attacks on Jews. Ever since his days as a CND activist, the Labour leader has argued for this crucial element of our national defence to be scrapped.
Perhaps more importantly, though, there’s already a tantalising hint that Corbyn might start to use digital technology to open up other areas of the political system.
