That Apple Music commercial with Kerry Washington, Taraji and Mary J. Blige
Other users were similarly excited: ‘I’m pretty sure Apple music just won the ad lottery.
By the way, Kerry, Mary and Taraji should totally have a show together …
Check out the ad below, and congratulations to Henson for her Emmy nod. She is also the first African-American female director to be nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
With the new ad, the brand is firmly targeting women, presenting Washington, Henson and Blige having a girly afternoon with a mixtape party (thanks to the playlist function the service offers).
And that’s when the jams start playing, and the three ladies get down to the beat, dancing, rapping lyrics and cheering when an oldie but goodie comes on.
All they needed was bamboo earrings (at least two pair), except for, well, maybe Kerry, who I love but who seemed a bit out of place.
The commercial drops as Drake and Future previewed their collabo mixtape, What A Time To Be Alive, on Apple’s Streaming channel, giving the music channel a major boost in the urban music space.
Oh, and there was more black-girl magic happening behind the scenes.
If you aren’t easily influenced by commercial or ads, this just might do it for you.
We can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
