Obama will likely meet with Israel’s Netanyahu in November .-White House
Israel is prepared to resume peace negotiations with the Palestinians right away, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his British counterpart David Cameron in London on Wednesday. “This change will take time but we will implement it”, he added.
Describing the future of the relationship between the USA and Israel as “something worth talking about” and “investing in”, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the planned meeting reflected the commitment of both leaders to maintain a strong relationship.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday night blasted the decision of the European Parliament to label goods produced in the Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
“I think we exhausted our differences regarding various global issues – not about the Iranian issue – but about Israel’s ties with the worldwide community”, he said. We can not allow Israel to act with immunity. “Being from Northern Ireland I could empathise greatly with Palestinians, with all the horrors they faced, although they face much deadlier scenarios than we had here growing up”.
Obama did not meet with Netanyahu when the prime minister addressed Congress in March, warning about the dangers of the Iran deal. Both the United Kingdom and other nations have lifted decades old sanctions on Iran in exchange for deals on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear programme.
In a statement released by his office, Netanyahu referred to the plan as “unjust”.
A spokesperson for the Israel Foreign Ministry dismissed the petition as a “meaningless” publicity stunt.
More than 500 children were among the 2,100 Palestinians, the majority of them civilians, who were killed in last year’s conflict. The law was amended in 2011 following Israeli pressure.
Three things were on the agenda at the talks, according to Netanyahu: security, peace and technology.
Tweeting his thanks to supporters, Moran said: “Well done everyone who signed and shared the petition the Apartheid state of Israel now has a clear message from the people of the U.K”. Israel is a global hub of innovation, especially in cyber security. His two day, along with his wife Sara, visit comes just before the “theater of the absurd” reconvenes for the UN General Assembly in New York later this month.
